This page includes interactive lessons, activities, and educational games that I designed and developed. I did not produce any art assets.
Role: Junior Instructional Designer
A key part of my role was producing eLearning lessons and activities efficiently while increasing interactivity and student engagement. Because TeachMe TV covers wide range of school year topics, it was important not to overbuild individual lessons, while still making them more immersive than standard quizzes or homework. For larger educational games, I focused more heavily on replayability and theme-driven learning to add more value for the scope of the project, which I discuss further below.
Gamification and Interactivity within eLearning Lessons & Activities
In the above sample, I demonstrate how I utilized theme and gamification to:
-
Increase immersion, replacing standard quiz questions with themed interactions.
-
Like turning progress tracking into a mountain-climbing goal, visualizing the peak as the end.
-
-
Applying gamification and interactivity to replace standard multiple choice while still following curriculum:
-
Using hiking checkpoints and evaluating the distances for comparing numbers.
-
Reinforce place value through deciphering codes and puzzles on signs.
-
-
Writing a narrative and using visual storytelling to further immerse users:
-
One learning objective was for students to listen to numbers spoken aloud then write it down.
-
I masked the quiz format by creating a campsite scene with recordings from hikers that students would interact with, then write down the numbers in standard, expanded, and word form.
